In my current position I am a Senior Scientific Officer (main technical lead) in the research arm of the translationally orientated Genito Urinary Cancer Research group led by Professor Noel Clarke and Dr Mick Brown. The main research focus of the group is on prostate cancer, in particular the mechanisms of prostate cancer metastasis to the bone; the role of lipids in prostate cancer progression; the development / study of novel agents and molecular markers in prostate cancer. A secondary research aim of the group, through the use of tissue banking and Tissue MicroArrays (TMA) is to study novel markers/pathways and the stem like phenotype of tumour initiating cells in other urological cancers (Kidney, Bladder, Testes).
