Social responsibility

Christine Lehnen has always been passionate about fostering aspiring writing talents. For three years, she served as judge of the Young Literature Award of her hometown Recklinghausen, a former mining community in the Ruhrgebiet, an area of Western Germany where unemployment is still high and the path into publishing seems too steep for most. From 2021, she will be serving as a mentor on the inaugural scholarship programme  for PAN e. V., the National Association of Fantasy Authors in Germany. As founder of the Novel Writing Workshop at the University of Bonn, she has created a platform for aspiring writers in English and German to meet agents and industry professionals.
