Research interests
My research interests revolve around urban change, everyday life, community and belonging. Methodologically my interests include the use of ethnographic research, qualiatative interviewing and biographical methods. These were developed in my PhD, which explored residents’ experiences of urban regeneration in East Manchester and in my current role in the Morgan Centre which is exploring place and belonging on a 1960s modernist housing scheme in Edinburgh.
I recently finished working on two research projects taking place at CRESC (Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change). One focused on big data and waste management, and the other the Step-Change project explored travel, transport and mobility.
