Research interests

His research interests include privatisation and initial public offerings (IPOs) in Malaysia; the accuracy of analysts' forecasts of earnings in the Malaysian market; the accuracy of forecasts of earnings included in IPOs' prospectuses; analysts' forecast revision in the UK and USA; and corporate restructuring and its impact on shareholders' wealth.

His publications include Privatisation Initial Public Offerings in Malaysia: Initial Premium and Long-term Performance (Pacific-Basin Finance Journal), Earnings Forecasts in Malaysia: An Empirical Analysis (Advances in Pacific Basin Financial Markets), and The Accuracy of Earnings Forecasts in IPO Prospectuses on the KLSE (Accounting and Business Research). His recent publications include articles in Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, International Review of Financial Analysis, and Applied Financial Economics.

Ongoing research is focusing on: initial public offerings and also the pricing and share allocation of Malaysian and Hong Kong IPOs; Management earnings forecasts in IPOs Prospectuses; Voluntary disclosures and accuracy of earnings forecasts; Bookbuilding and Share Allocation of the Hong Kong IPOs; Share-only vs Unit IPOs: The case of the Hong Kong Market; Share allocation and the performance of the Malaysia second Board of IPOs; International comparison of the actuary of earnings forecasts disclosed in IPO prospectuses.
