Research interests

Andy's previous research interests centred around the viral aetiology of Paget's disease of bone, and vitamin D metabolism. He was one of only a handful of people in the UK to pioneer the use of in situ-RT-PCR, a technique for localising very small amouts of nucleic acids in tissue sections. He has published in all three areas and has received grants from the MRC, WellcomeTrust, industry and research charities. Andy's current interests are in the field of cognition and decision making, particularly how cognitive bias and habits influence our decision making processes.
