Amir completed his first degree with a first-class BSc in industrial & systems engineering in 2008. This was followed by a MSc in project management from University of Birmingham (UK) in 2010, and a grade-A PhD in management of projects from the University of Manchester (UK) in 2015. Durng his studies , he worked as an intern in oil & gas, pharmaceutical and maintenance engineering & asset management sectors.
Prior to his current appointment as a lecturer in engineering project management, Amir also had full time industrial roles as head of R&D and R&D project manager in maintenance engineering & asset management and manufacturing sectors in the UK. He has successfully managed and delivered a variety of industrial research and innovation projects relevant to Industry 4.0 and digital transformation with a specific focus on big data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), decision making and robotics.
Amir currently holds a visiting lecturer role in Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), a visiting research fellow role in the University of Huddersfield and an innovation strategy consultant role at Electrocomponents plc (now RS Group plc) as well.
