Dr Abdullah Gök is a Lecturer in Innovation, Strategy and Business Economics at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) and he is a member of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR). Abdullah is also affiliated with the Centre for Synthetic Biology of Fine and Speciality Chemicals (SYNBIOCHEM). Prior to joining AMBS/MIoIR in 2006, Abdullah worked at The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) as a policy researcher between 2003 and 2006.
Abdullah's research spans three inter-related areas of innovation management and policy (see research section for more detail):
- emerging technologies and their governance
- science, technology and innovation policy and evaluation
- social innovation
Besides these three areas, Abdullah utilises novel and big data sources by developing novel methodologies through data science
Abdullah teaches at BSc, MSc, PhD and executive levels at the Alliance Manchester Business School.
Abdullah holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Science and Technology Policy Studies from the METU, Turkey. He completed his PhD in December 2010 at the AMBS, University of Manchester.
