Biography

Dr Abdullah Gök is a Lecturer in Innovation, Strategy and Business Economics at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) and he is a member of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR). Abdullah is also affiliated with the Centre for Synthetic Biology of Fine and Speciality Chemicals (SYNBIOCHEM). Prior to joining AMBS/MIoIR in 2006, Abdullah worked at The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) as a policy researcher between 2003 and 2006.

Abdullah's research interests (see research section for more detail):

- emerging technologies and their governance
- science, technology and innovation policy and evaluation
- the intersection between innovation and big data

Abdullah teaches at BSc, MSc, PhD and executive levels at the Alliance Manchester Business School and he is a director of the MIoIR Executive Short Course on Evaluation of Science and Technology Policies.

Abdullah holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Science and Technology Policy Studies from the METU, Turkey. He completed his PhD in December 2010 at the AMBS, University of Manchester.
