The Favourable Legal View of Religion in England in the XXI Century

Abstract

This article examines whether the current establishment relationship between Church and State in England is acceptable and/or desirable in the twenty first century. It considers the way in which the UK legal framework treats: 1) Religion in general: examining specifc provisions relating to education, criminal, charity and family law; 2) Christianity as a faith; 3) The Church of England by Law Established, before drawing some conclusions on the nature and benefits of the English establishment model.
