Abstract

This book chapter contains a detailed analysis of the education system in Spain. It starts with a brief review of the history of compulsory attendance, followed by a discussion of the funding for public and non public schools, as well as governing boards and the differences between various categories of state and non public schools. This chapter also focuses on faculty rights, other constitutional issues, students' rights, and in its final section deals with key emerging issues.
