Abstract

Biofoundries provide an integrated infrastructure to enable the rapid design,
construction, and testing of genetically reprogrammed organisms for biotechnology
applications and research. Many biofoundries are being built and a
Global Biofoundry Alliance has recently been established to coordinate activities
worldwide.
