A Dictionary of Social Research Methods

Research output: Book/ReportBookpeer-review

Abstract

The book will address the needs of three groups who engage in social research: students, academics and professional researchers in the market research / polling / evaluation areas. The student usage will range across all social sciences plus health, education, management, and many other newer disciplines e.g. migration, development studies and biography as found in humanities. The professional usage will involve practitioners, who typically take short courses to upgrade their practical skills, using the online site to quickly check up their use of key terms. Our aim is to provide succinct, expert summary definitions of 300 key terms used in social research. The professional usage will also be enhanced through our social media presence. Finally the academic usage will include both teaching and researcher uses. Thus a wide range of people, from beginner through to expert, will use this online source as an easy-to-reach reference.
