Geographies of Muslim women and the UK cultural and creative economy

Description

This Fellowship looks at the role and contribution of British Muslim women in the cultural and creative industries, with focus on their engagement and leadership in i) digital media, ii) fashion, and iii) visual arts. Overall it provides an assessment on the interplay of faith and gender as social markers that impact upon pathways into and performance of cultural labour, which has received little attention. In so doing, it will develop innovative research on Muslim women and creative labour, and evaluate whether religion and faith is neglected in policy and arts practice.
