A cohort study of suicide in the UK armed forces and in ex-service personnel

Description

This year-long project was a collaboration between the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health (NCISH) and the former Defense Analytical Services Agency (DASA) set up to investigate the rate, timing and risk factors for suicide in all those who had left the UK Armed Forces between 1996 and 2005.

The study was funded by the Ministry of Defense Veterans' Challenge Fund.

Findings from the study were published in a research paper in 2009.
