The award is to provide recognition to an emerging scholar for novel and innovative scholarship and for potential to contribute to interdisciplinary and critical perspectives on accounting research. The award was presented at the 8th Asia-Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA) Conference 2016, Australia, 13-15 July 2016, a conference that is affiliated with the Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ). Subsequently, my achievement was mentioned in the AAAJ publication which reflected on the achievements of the journal's first 30 years of operation: Guthrie, J. and Parker, L.D., 2017.
