School of Mathematics
Overview
Research within the School of Mathematics is conducted through the Manchester Institute for Mathematical Science.
Our research spans the breadth of applied mathematics, pure mathematics, and probability and statistics.
We have a high level of engagement in interdisciplinary research and with industry. Our research has a global impact across banking and finance, manufacturing, energy, security and beyond.
We actively carry out research across a broad range of modern and traditional mathematics through 11 research groups.
