A folk singing competition for ages 8 to 18. The event recalled how singing was of vital importance to Bangladeshi immigrants arriving to work in its mills and factories in the 1950s and 1960s. Young people were particularly welcome to come along and experience how collective singing of and listening to these songs provided critical succour to their forefathers in a time of displacement and upheaval.
