Aspire: The female autism network

Activity: Other

This is primarily a social media group established on Facebook who share information, resources and support to females with autism on a national level.

It was set up in 2015 as a side project to the research into communication differences between females and males with autism; as a way to offer something back to the community supporting the study. However, it has developed a wider remit since then.

It is collaboratively run between myself and Eti and Lynn Goldsack (a young lady with Asperger's type autism and her mother respectively). As well as the social network group we now meet regularly with a team of females with Asperger's Syndrome and family members to discuss running of the site and to develop our own information sheets and other material to distribute to the community. We also run events to support our team and raise awareness more widely.
