Overview

Liz is an experienced quantitative researcher. She is a senior health economist specialising in the design and implementation of economic evaluations (trials and models). She has a particular interest in mental health and women's/maternal health although has secured funding for a broad portfolio of projects across a wide range of clinical areas. She has a unique set of complementary skills from her background in psychology and epidemiology in combination with her expertise in economic evaluation. She works as part of multi-disciplinary research teams on projects based in the UK, Europe, and sub-Saharan Africa. 

Liz is a member of the Manchester Centre for Health Economics (MCHE), based in the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research & Primary Care, and the School of Health Sciences. She is also the senior health economist for the Manchester Clinical Trials Unit (MCTU) which involves sharing her expertise in trial design and grant-writing with prospective PIs. She is the Deputy Division Lead for Research and a member of the Division Leadership Team. 

For 2 years Liz was an associate editor for the BMC Psychiatry journal and has served as a peer reviewer for more than 20 international journals and 4 major funding bodies. She is currently a member of the NIHR HTA funding committee and has completed a 2-year term on the NIHR RfPB North West funding committee.

Liz contributes to teaching as a supervisor and advisor to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
