Eleanor obtained her LLB, MA and PhD from the University of Nottingham, with her MA and PhD funded under a 1+3 CASE Studentship from the ESRC. Her PhD, awarded in 2012, examined the impact of the EU regulatory regime on the inclusion of labour criteria (e.g. minimum wage standards, prohibition of child labour) in procurement contracts awarded by UK utilities. Whilst at Nottingham, she also worked as the administrator for the EU Asia Inter-University Network for Teaching and Research in Public Procurement Regulation project, and was a tutor in Tort Law.
On completion of her PhD, Eleanor worked as a Lecturer in Law at Coventry University, before joining the University of Manchester in September 2013.
