My doctoral research project looks at the tangible and intangible legacies of socialism in the built environment of Riga, Latvia. This project focuses on two urban spaces in the city, Freedom boulevard (Brīvības bulvāris) and Victory park (Uzvaras parks).
The project is supervised by Dr Ewa Ochman and Dr Olga Ulturgasheva.
The project is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (the North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership) and the University of Manchester (the President’s Doctoral Scholar Award).
