I am a Medical Research Council funded PhD student in neuroscience. My doctoral research focuses on neural network connectivity in early multiple sclerosis. Using structural and functional neuroimaging methods I aim to identify the neural network changes that underlie cognitive impairment in people with multiple sclerosis early in the disease course. Additionally, my work will explore cellular energy failure as a potential mechanism of early pathology. The outputs of this research have the potential to inform prognostic estimates, treatment decisions, and drug targets, leading to improved outcomes for patients.
