I have been a Lecturer in Politics at the University of Manchester since September 2020. My research is in the area of urban experimentation and social transformation. I am particularly interested in how learning about social change at a municipal level can support transitions to post-captialist futures. I use critical participatory action research and have an interest in the politics of knowledge production more broadly.
I completed my PhD at the University of Manchester in January 2019. After completing my PhD, I was a Digital Engagement Fellow with the Sociological Review Foundation and then an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Local Government Studies at the University of Birmimgham. Before starting my PhD, I worked for over ten years in the voluntary and community sector across the North West of England.
