Overview

My research centres on patients with chronic kidney disease who are preparing for or starting on dialysis and their partners. Using mixed methods, I am exploring the impact of dialysis on their quality of life and on their relationship. The aim of the research is to identify psychological and social factors that are associated with better or poorer quality of life trajectories in patients and their partners. This information could be used by health care professionals to spot couples who may need additional support as they transition onto this treatment.
