Overview

Corina Balaban is a postdoctoral Research Associate at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR, Alliance Manchester Business School), where she conducts qualitative research on science and research policy. Her current project investigates the changing roles of universities in societies, with a focus on the humanities and social sciences. It explores issues of governance, knowledge production and academic identities in relation to societal impact of research. 

Prior to joining MIoIR, Corina was a Marie Curie Fellow on UNIKE (http://unike.au.dk/), a four year collaborative research project exporing the dynamic relationships between universities and knowledge economies in Europe and the Asia-Pacific Rim. 

Corina holds a PhD degree in Education from Aarhus University, a Master's degree in Educational Research Methodology from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor's degree in Education and English from the University of Cambridge.
