Overview

I'm a PhD student at the School of Maths and Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics under supervision of Prof. Nico Gray and Dr. Chris Johnson. We have been investigating the underlying physics of dense granular avalanches, flows widely observed in geophysical events and in industrial processes, combining theory, numerical simulations and experiments. More specifically, I've been studying flows where solid- and liquid-like behaviours of the granular media are observed simutaneously, leading to special patterns, such as granular self-channelisation. In a more genreal scope, I'm interested in the pattern formation associated with nonlinear systems.
