Overview

I am a second year joint PhD student at the University of Manchester and the University of Melbourne working on a project called Making up the global city: The governance and finance of urban infrastructural futures.

In this research, I explore how infrastructure is used to ‘make up’ the global city in Manchester and Melbourne. Here, ‘making up’ the global city refers to the global city aspirations that are ‘made up’ or imagined by different actors and the processes through which these aspirations come to be physically ‘made up’ as infrastructure.

I am supervised by Prof. Kevin Ward and Dr. Aurora Fredriksen at the University of Manchester, and Prof. Michele Acuto and A/Prof. Crystal Legacy at the University of Melbourne.

I am a member of the Cities, Politics and Economies Research Group and I convene a monthly reading group for international urban studies researchers.
