I am the Strategic Funding Manager for the "Infection, Immunity, Inflammation and Repair" Research Domain, and the Programme Manager for the UoM/MRC Confidence in Concept scheme.
I received my MSc in Health Services Research and Technology Assessment from the University of Sheffield in 2002 and a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Leicester in 2010. My recent positions include Translational Research Facilitator in the Arthritis Research UK Pain Centre in Nottingham and Senior Research Facilitator at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. My background is in health services research, clinical studies and systematic reviews/meta-analysis.
The Strategic Funding Team (SFT) in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH) provides a professional service to support the development and implementation of the Faculty’s research strategy. It works closely with the academic community to:
- Coordinate the production and submission of large-scale research and fellowship funding applications
- Promote collaborative and multi-disciplinary working via the FBMH Research Domains
- Help build capacity and capability in strategic priority areas
- Capture and exploit strategic funding intelligence
