Joint Ph.D. in Human Geography at the Universities of Fribourg -CH- and Verona -IT- (2014), I am Honorary Research Fellow at the Global Development Institute (project "Strategic Network: New National Planning for Sustainable Development in the Global South") and Research Fellow at the Geography Section, Department of History, Culture and Civilization, University of Bologna.

My research scholarship focuses on Political Ecology, Development Policies and Hydropolitics, and I am particularly interested in the interfaces between the inernational development initiatives and community level socio-power transformations, and regionally on Central and Southeast Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam).
