I'm a postdoctoral Research Associate in Epidemiology and Statistics at Professor Tjeerd van Staa's team. In the framework of the BRIT2 project, I do research on a knowledge support system for prescribing antibiotics in primary care, aiming to optimise and personalise the prescribing of antibiotics. We analyse the effect of the Covid19 pandemic on the prescribing of antibiotics and other consequent complications of using antibiotics. We also analyse and interpret the risks of polypharmacy.
I completed a PhD in Computer Science under supervision of Dr William Marsh at Queen Mary University of London, UK. In my PhD, I focused on the Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) case study of the EPSRC-funded PamBayesian project led by Professor Norman Fenton. I closely collaborated with a rheumatologist team and we built multiple Bayesian network models for diagnosis, self-management, and personalised care of RA. These models can help clinicians and patients to improve their decision-making and manage the quality of life of RA patients. My PhD thesis is available in this link. Prior to my PhD, I gained a Master's degree in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tabriz, Iran.
