Overview

I am Alexandrina Vanke, a PhD researcher at the Department of Sociology at the University of Manchester. I am currently writing my PhD thesis 'Working-Class Life and Struggle in Post-Soviet Russia' under the supervision of Prof Hilary Pilkington and Dr Wendy Bottero. My doctoral project deals with everyday practices of workers and their ways of overcoming difficulties in contemporary Russian society.

  • Candidate of Sciences in Sociology, the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences
