Overview

I joined the University of Manchester in September 2016 as Lecturer in the Cultural History of Modern War. Prior to taking up this position, I held post-doctoral research fellowships at the College of Europe, Natolin, and Trinity College Dublin (funded by the Irish Research Council). My research is concerned with the effects of military violence on civilians in modern Europe, with a special focus on France during the First World War, as well as the history of refugees in the period of the two world wars.
