An engineer by training, Adrián graduated with a BEng in Bioengineering & Biomedical Engineering from Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) in 2015. Interested in biomaterials science and tissue engineering, Adrián completed an MSc in Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine from University College London (UCL) in 2016. 

Adrián joined The University of Manchester (UoM) in September 2016 as a PhD student of the A*STAR PhD Programme. He is supervised by Dr Jonny Blaker and co-supervised by Prof Julie Gough at UoM, and by Dr Xu Li at A*STAR in Singapore.

Adrián's research interests include the development of new versatile biomaterials that can mimic biological environments more accurately to enhance tissue function. Adrián's current project is on conductive scaffolds for neural tissue engineering applications.
