Matthew Allen joined Manchester Business School in 2007. After obtaining his PhD from the University of Birmingham, he worked at Manchester Metropolitan University (2004-2007). Matthew also holds a master’s degree from the University of Oxford and a first degree from the University of East Anglia.
He has published in leading comparative and international business journals, such as Socio-Economic Review and the International Journal of Human Resource Management. He is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Human Resource Management. Matthew also help to organize the Network on Knowledge, Technology and Innovation for the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics, and is the Communications Officer for the Academy of International Business (UK and Ireland Chapter).
Whilst at Alliance Manchester Business School, Matthew has been the programme director for the MSc in Chinese Business and Management. He is currently the DBA Director.
Matthew contributes to the Managing Internationally across Business Systems on the MBA. He runs the International Organisational Change course on the MSc in Global Business Analysis. In addition, he contributes to the undergraduate Firms and Management in Comparative Perspective unit.
